El Ayuntamiento ha organizado un intenso calendario de propuestas que ha contado con la presencia del alcalde de El Ejido, Francisco Góngora, quien ha estado acompañado por la edil responsable de esta área, Luisa Barranco; además de otros miembros de su equipo de gobierno y numerosos representantes del sector turístico, hostelero y de la oferta complementaria. La jornada ha incluido la charla sobre 'La Sostenibilidad en la agricultura' que ha corrido a cargo de la gerente de Clisol Agro, Lola Gómez; la conferencia sobre 'Gestión sostenible en La Almunya del Sur' que ha protagonizado el director del Jardín, Manuel Sánchez y el posterior recorrido por estas instalaciones. A continuación, se ha realizado un Taller Práctico sobre Compostaje y como punto y final a la jornada, la Escuela de Hostelería de Almería ha ofrecido un Desayuno Sostenible a base de hortalizas de la zona, así como de frutas y zumos naturales.
